About a month ago, we were visiting my cousin, and at some point in the conversation, I told him about the idea of Pinky Hero.
And you seriously won’t believe what happened.
Literally, as I was telling him about the product and the Kickstarter campaign (and I could see on his face that look of – do people really need this?) — we suddenly heard one of the kids scream.
We both turned our heads toward the scream — and we saw one of the neighbor’s kids who had come over to play, standing by the sliding door, crying.
Yup. He had closed the door on his finger.
The timing was so crazy that we actually laughed for a second (and then ran to comfort him). I know it sounds like some unrealistic ad, but that’s exactly how it happened. If I had done an IPO for Pinky Hero at that exact moment, my cousin would probably have been the first investor.
Thank God, the kid’s finger was fine — just black and blue — but it made something very clear to both of us: this is something that really happens.
There’s almost no one I’ve told about this idea who hasn’t said something like, “Oh wow, I wish you had made this earlier. Our son/daughter once had their finger slammed in a door — it was bad.”
Stitches. Physical therapy. The works.
Now, I’m not here to scare you. If you’re parents, you already have enough fears of your own 🙂
I just want to say — it’s so easy to solve this. No, it won’t change your life, but it can definitely give you one less thing to worry about. Why not?
