Pinky Hero was created by a father of eight (yup, 8!). Like many parents, I always had a small concern that a sliding door could hurt my kids’ fingers. You know how it is — they run in and out to the yard, slamming the door behind them, not really checking if a little sister is nearby.
That concern stayed with me until a few months ago, when I decided to stop thinking about it and try to solve it. I wasn’t aiming to invent anything fancy. I just wanted a simple, practical solution. And that’s when the idea for Pinky Hero came together.
I tested it at home for several months with my own kids, and when I saw how well it worked, I thought — Why keep this just for myself? I reached out to an industrial designer, worked with a manufacturing factory to create a proper prototype, and once we were happy with it, I launched this Kickstarter campaign. Not just to fund production, but to build a small community of parents who care about making homes a little safer.
